The Moy Family Loves Slade!

We could not have imagined a better school than Monsignor Slade to educate, guide, and nurture our children into well-rounded individuals. Our journey at Slade began when Brooklyn entered PreK3 and Levi entered PreK2. Over the past six years, we have watched our children grow academically, socially, and spiritually, thanks to Slade’s comprehensive approach to educating both the mind and the soul.

The teachers and staff are truly committed to providing the highest quality education to their students. In every grade, our children have been consistently challenged in fun, engaging, and meaningful ways that meet their individual learning needs while inspiring them to discover and learn more. The teachers do an exceptional job communicating with parents about their students’ progress, accomplishments, and needs. We always feel informed and connected to what is happening in the classroom.

Slade also offers an incredible variety of extracurricular activities that allow students to explore their interests and discover new passions. In addition to classroom learning, students can participate in soccer, basketball, cheerleading, field hockey, lacrosse, Chess Club, Book Club, Lego Club, Dice Club, Robotics, Band, and so much more. Every year, Brooklyn and Levi look forward to trying a new club just as much as they enjoy returning to their Slade sports teams. The Slade community does an excellent job encouraging students to step outside of their comfort zones, try new things, and experience the joy and responsibility of being part of a team.

Beyond the classroom, Slade has a vibrant and welcoming school community with endless opportunities for parents and families to become involved. Throughout the school year, families can participate in school events, volunteer in the classroom, or contribute through the Home and School Association. Some of our favorite traditions include trick-or-treating at Trunk-or-Treat, the festive breakfast and games during Christmas at Slade, and the Color Run during Race for Slade, our largest annual fundraiser. These events have created countless special memories for our children. While our children have made lifelong friendships, my husband and I have built lasting connections with other parents through our involvement in the Slade community.

Monsignor Slade is truly food for the soul. Each school day begins with a brief prayer service, which is always open to parents and family members. Students attend monthly Mass, with different grades taking turns participating in the service. Through community service projects, students also learn the importance of compassion, responsibility, and giving back to others. Slade’s values code encourages every student to be honest, respectful, hardworking, and helpful. Students who consistently demonstrate these exemplary qualities have the opportunity to be recognized as Super Slades—a tradition the entire student body looks forward to each week.

We are incredibly grateful for the past six years and for every teacher, staff member, and friend who has been part of our journey. We are proud to be part of the Slade family and so thankful to call Monsignor Slade home.
