During the competition, nine finalists were narrowed down to one following an intense round between the last two competitors. Liam Holstege, a sixth grade student, is Monsignor Slade Catholic School's #NatGeoBee champion.  Holstege recently took his state qualifying test. The top-100-ranked students in Maryland will qualify to represent their school at the state GeoBee competition. State champions will then be invited to compete in the national championship.

We hope to share great news on Liam's behalf with you in early March!
