No-Waste-Lunch Rousing Success!

Monsignor Slade students were challenged to pack a no-waste lunch today.  The hope was that all drinks, food items, snacks, and drinks would be packed in reusable containers. The Green School Committee members also challenged students to bring reusable silverware and napkins. Students were also encouraged to bring only what they could eat and consider the impact wasting food would have on the earth.

The grade from each lunch period with the least waste are able to dress out-of-uniform on Monday, April 4, 2022. The winning grades were:

  • First Grade
  • Third & Fourth Grades (tied with zero waste)
  • Eighth Grade

The total amount of waste generated during today's lunch periods was less than three pounds.

Way to go, Slade!
