126 "Breakfasts in a Bag" Collected for Happy Helpers

Despite a snow day interruption, our first and second graders and their families donated the highest totals of breakfasts in a bag to Happy Helpers' effort to make a difference for people in Baltimore City and the local area who are homeless. Thank you to our first and second graders and their families for your generous efforts to make a difference.

Happy Helpers asks that a brown bag breakfast include the following:

  • Hot chocolate packet in a disposable insulated cup
  • Instant oatmeal or individual serving of cereal in a box or cup
  • A fruit cup or applesauce
  • Juice
  • Granola bar or breakfast bar

Our students often decorate their brown bags with cheerful pictures and messages of encouragement.  They deliver the bags on their way into school on collection day.  Two parent volunteers box up the donated breakfasts and deliver them to Happy Helpers. The breakfasts are then delivered to homeless families and children in the local area, for whom they make a great difference.

Brown bag breakfasts are collected each month.  If you would like to support our efforts, feel free to bring a contribution or drop off your own!
