The Monsignor Slade Edu-Care Center is licensed for children ages 2-12 by the State of Maryland, Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood Development, Office of Child Care. Priority is given to current Slade students, siblings, and families registered in one of the six parishes. The center is open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. year round.

At Monsignor Slade Edu-Care Center, we strive to recognize each child as a child of God, capable of growing in his/her own unique way; to provide an atmosphere of love and trust in which the child is free to explore; to instill in each child a sense of self-worth and a love of learning.

We offer challenges without pressure and opportunities for success.   Well-planned activities enable the child to learn to share and take turns, to respect the rights and needs of others, the art of listening, and the ability to follow directions.  The child will begin an education process, which if properly nourished, will enable him/her to become a productive, worthwhile, and responsible person.

Monsignor Slade Edu-Care Center offers the following programs:

  • Part day nursery school during the school year for 2s, 3s, and 4s.
  • Full day preschool for 3s and 4s, year-round.
  • Before and after school care for grades kindergarten through 6th at MSCS.
  • Summer program for school- aged children.

All children must be completely toilet-trained. Licensed by the State of Maryland, Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood Development, Office of Child Care, the center follows the policies of Monsignor Slade Catholic School and, as such, children with birthdays after September 1st will be placed in the next year's program.
